Frequently Asked Questions

Yes. Goat Funded Trader allows news trading, but trades opened or closed within 5 minutes before or after a high-impact red-folder news release can generate a maximum of 1% profit based on the initial account balance. Any excess profit from those trades is removed rather than treated as a breach.
Yes. Goat Funded Trader's Swing challenge is specifically described as allowing unrestricted news trading. The standard models still apply the 1% profit cap to trades opened or closed within 5 minutes of high-impact news.
Yes. Overnight trading is allowed, but all accounts are currently subject to swap fees because Goat Funded Trader does not offer Islamic or swap-free accounts.
Yes. Expert Advisors are allowed provided they comply with GFT's prohibited-trading rules. High-frequency trading systems and Gold Arbitrage EAs are prohibited. VPS availability for an EA depends on the account model and purchase date.
Signal services and copy trading are generally prohibited. GFT does allow copying between funded accounts, but copying trades between evaluation accounts or from evaluation to funded accounts is not permitted. Copying another trader or using third-party signals is prohibited.
No. Goat Funded Trader prohibits hedging positions within the same account, between accounts owned by the same trader and between accounts belonging to different traders. Opening opposite positions on the same asset is treated as hedging.
Yes. VPN use is allowed, but unusual or inconsistent geographical login patterns can trigger a risk review. GFT may request evidence of the VPN service or proof of your actual location.
Yes. Goat Funded Trader allows traders to hold positions over the weekend. However, trades opened during the last three market hours on Friday and closed within the first three market hours on Monday can be reviewed for weekend-gap exploitation, and profits from such trades can be removed on funded accounts.
VPS use depends on the account model. For accounts purchased from August 12, 2026 onward, VPS use is prohibited on One Step, Two Step, Instant Premium and Pay Later accounts. VPS use remains permitted on Instant GOAT and Instant HERO accounts.
The maximum drawdown depends on the model. The 1-Step model uses a 6% static maximum loss, 2-Step Standard and 2-Step GOAT use 10% static maximum loss, and the 3-Step model uses 8% static maximum loss. Instant models have separate trailing drawdown structures.
The daily drawdown depends on the model. The current 1-Step model uses 3% for accounts purchased from August 1, 2026, 2-Step Standard uses 5%, 2-Step GOAT uses 4%, and 3-Step uses 4%. Instant models have their own daily limits.
It depends on the model. The 1-Step, 2-Step Standard, 2-Step GOAT and 3-Step evaluation models do not have a consistency rule. Some funded or instant models do, such as GOAT Blitz with a 15% funded consistency rule and Goat $1 with a 15% consistency rule.
Goat Funded Trader states that eligible payout requests are processed within 2 business days. If GFT fails to process a payout within that period, it says it will add a $1,000 bonus, except where the delay is caused by pending KYC or additional information requested from the trader.
The current minimum withdrawal amount for standard funded-account rewards is $100. The Goat $1 account also has a $100 minimum withdrawal, but its total lifetime withdrawable profit is capped at $100.
Goat Funded Trader currently processes rewards through Rise, cryptocurrency, Skrill and bank transfer. Rise has no stated per-payout maximum, while bank transfers are capped at $10,000, Skrill at $5,000 and crypto at $3,000 per payout.
Goat Funded Trader currently supports cTrader, TradeLocker, Match-Trader, Volumetrica and MetaTrader 5. MT5 and cTrader are not available to U.S. clients; U.S. traders can use TradeLocker, Match-Trader and Volumetrica.
Goat Funded Trader currently offers FX pairs, CFD indices, metals, commodities, stocks and cryptocurrencies.
Yes, traders can open and close positions in under 2 minutes. However, on funded accounts, profits from trades held for less than 2 minutes are removed when calculating a payout. Losses from those trades remain the trader's responsibility. The rule applies only to funded accounts, not evaluation accounts.
Goat Guard is GFT's funded-account risk-management system. It triggers when the combined floating loss of open positions reaches 2% of the account's initial balance. The first trigger reduces the profit split to 50% but does not close the account. A second qualifying trigger results in a permanent account breach. Goat Guard does not apply to Instant Funding accounts.
Yes. The first payout requires identity verification through KYC and an electronically signed Trader Agreement. KYC is completed through Veriff or Rise depending on the selected payout method.
